'Time is an abstract concept'..... so they say. Today the hour we shift marks 'summer' time and with some glee go forward to embrace the changing season. Animals, plants, insects and us all... I'm full of enthusiasm about the promise of better weather and our imminent move to the marine climes of sunny Fife. Wishing you all sunny days.

Examples of Work
Above are a few images of my artwork and although I work mainly in watercolour, I do use whatever is close to me at the time. Landscapes of Scotland is the mainstay of my portfolio and having been immersed in architecture for close on a hundred and forty two years [I exaggerate... it just seemed that long!] the influence of buildings in our landscape is prominent in my work. I love Charles Rennie Macintosh and the whole Glasgow Style. My abstract works reflect this era and his genius. Figurative and Portraiture and great loves which I do not spend enough time doing.... I guess that applies to my art in total. More time with a paintbrush in hand, less time talking about it.
Must go and paint. We can talk later.

I'm writing this instead of wrestling with a web page builder which is somewhat counter productive.... make yourself visible by getting the web page up and running, rather than wax lyrical about how hard it is. I have managed to at least get some of my watercolour images up onto this page and real soon there will be a link to a web page that will give more detail about my work.
Inspiration to me is a very special lady by the name of Leila Aitken. Someone who took the leap into being an artist a while ago, and has become very successful. Her Web site gives details of where her art is showing and her current work. Well worth checking out. http://www.leilaaitken.co.uk

What_a_Colour
Well, what a week. The Aberfeldy Gallery have accepted my art and one is very uplifted by the moment. I have to say that the Gallery is one of the best in Scotland and has been favourite of mine for many years. It will not be slipping from the position any time soon! Give it a visit on the web, or better still, in real time with a drive through the most stunning landscapes which are called Perthshire.
We are on the move, and await our keys for a new home in sunny Fife. I will keep you posted on the development of our move and all the chaos that will go with it. West Linton [and indeed Perthshire] is covered in snow and, although yielding to the longer days, remains a ghostly feature in the countryside. Spring will, eventually, bring new challenges and mine is to move house without loosing momentum on art production. I will post new work as and when it is completed.
